Overview

CBN inserts are primarily used for high-speed machining ofhardened steel, powderedmetal,superalloys, and cast iron. Our CBNinserts are optimized and manufactured to deliversignificantly longer tool life, uniform surface roughness, and excellent dimensional control. Consequently the costofcomponents can decrease significantly, leading to higherproductivity and cost savings in the manufacturing operation.


TOAST.CBN is a cutting tool made from cubic boron nitride (CBN) sintered material. Due to its lowaffinity for iron-based metals, it is primarily used for machining iron-based materials. According toits microstructure, it can be roughly divided into the following three major categories:The substrate(A)is directly bonded by CBN particles, with a high content of CBN, suitable for machininghigh hardness materials such as cast iron, heat-resistant alloys, and cemented carbides.The substrateB)is bonded by CBN particles using a special ceramic binder, which has a strongbinding force between the CBN particles. When machining materials such as hardened steel andcastiron,it can exhibit excellent wearresistance and toughness.A special ceramic coating is applied on the TOAST.CBN (substrateC), relying on the CBN sinteredmatrix and the coating film to share the requirements for the hardness, toughness, heat resistanceand oxidation resistance of the cutting tool material, showing excellent cutting performance.
